    Il pescatore che batteva l ' acqua.

    Un pescatore pescava in un fiume.
    Dopo aver teso le reti e sbarrato la corrente dall ' una all ' altra riva, batteva l ' aqua con una pietra legata a una funicella, perché i peschi, fugendo all ' impazzata, andavano ad impigliarci tra le maglie.
    Vedendolo intento a quest ' operazione, uno degli habitanti del luogo si mise a rimproverarlo perché insudiciava il fiume e rendeva loro impossibile di bere un pò d ' acqua limpida.
    E quello rispose : ' Ma se non intorbido così l ' acqua, a me non resta che morir di fame ' .
    Così anche nei Stati, per i demagoghi gli affari vanno bene specialmente quanto essi son riusciti a seminare il disordini nel loro paese.
